Step #1 - Strengthen

Collagen + C™

Helps minimize fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin elasticity, and holds moisture in the skin

· Thickens fine hair, adds body and can slow hair loss
· Corrects split, rigid and weak nails
· Strengthen and nourish ligaments, tendons and bones
· Can help build lean muscle due to it being a rich natural source of glycine, the amino acid vital for muscle growth
The word “collagen” is derived from the word kolla, the Greek word for glue. Collagen is the strong fiber that weaves throughout our body for strength and support to literally hold the body together, similar to glue, yet stronger than steel wire. Daily, the body repeats a cycle of collagen breakdown and rebuilding. As we age, the process changes and it is estimated that since the body slows down in the rebuilding phases, the body loses collagen at a rate of 1.5% per year from age 25 onwards. This collagen breakdown is what causes most visible signs of aging including wrinkles, sagging skin, joint pain, and brittle nails.
The collagen peptides type 1&3 in Super Collagen™ support collagen in tendons, ligaments, hair, skin, nails, and lean muscle. These two types of collagen are the main types found in connective tissue making up 90% of the body's total collagen content. Super Collagen™ is rich in hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine, which are two key amino acids specific only to collagen and especially important to collagen production.
The benefits of supplementing with Super Collagen™ are twofold: the body is nourished with Collagen 1 & 3 where it is deficient and then Super Collagen™ acts as a messenger to trigger the synthesis of new collagen fibers. Super Collagen™ is derived from pharmaceutical food grade bovine collagen that is extracted from the dermal layer. Super Collagen™ is then enzymatically hydrolyzed, providing a collagen amino acid ration with a low molecular weight for maximum bioavailability. Because Super Collagen genetically parallels the amino acid structure of our own body's collagen, persons taking Super Collagen will experience a 90% absorption rate into the blood stream where cellular changes occur.

Step 2: Hydrate

Blueberry Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a protein generated naturally within our body and is more concentrated in areas that endure increased movement or have a higher fluid component such as the skin, eyes, ears, heart and joints. As aging progresses, production of this important moisturizing lubricant slows resulting in wrinkles, joint pain and other connective tissue complications.

Our HA has a low-molecular weight source of hyaluronic acid for higher absorption and is one of the only hyaluronic acid supplements on the market today that is naturally sourced from rooster combs, which have been found to be more compatible in the human body rather than from a bacterial fermentation laboratory source. HA from synthetic sources has been found to cause edema (water retention) in some individuals and with natural HA this does not happen. (For more HA information, see our Hyaluronic Acid page.)

Hyaluronic Acid Blueberry Liquid™ with the added benefits of powerful antioxidants from pomegranate and green tea, is an all-natural dietary supplement that counteracts the effects of aging in a more effective way than topical HA application alone. By nourishing and moisturizing the skin and connective tissue from the inside, it is like creating a more youthful, healthy inner environment overall. With green tea in the mix, the health benefits include: anti-inflammatory effects, potential delay or prevention of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases as well as assistance in lowering LDL cholesterol, increased fat metabolism, and diabetes prevention. Made with organic agave nectar, this natural sweetener has a lower glycemic index. It also has blueberries and pomegranates which are loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, and other health supporting benefits.

In the body, collagen and HA are almost always found together. Collagen provides the mechanical strength of connective tissues and HA, with its ability to bind enormous amounts of water, serves to lubricate these same tissues providing needed hydration. With daily supplementation of collagen and Hyaluronic Acid Blueberry Liquid™, this is a powerful synergistic team for the lubrication of joints, protection of the retina in eyes, as an aide in prolonging smooth and youthful looking skin, and connective tissue health. You can turn to NeoCell for both!

Step 3: Protect

Pomegranite

The centuries-old Pomegranate, once enjoyed as nothing more than a fruit, is now being hailed by researchers as having extraordinary antioxidant properties that protect the body from free radicals. Recent studies show a positive connection between the pomegranate, rich in polyphenols, and heart health. Pomegranate from the Seed is made from the juice that is extracted from the seeds, which contains the highest level of antioxidant capacity. Its potency is unique and daily consumption provides significantly dramatic results.

Illumination Shine Mist by Cureology

If you were to come into my home right now, you would see that we have way too many personal care products. Hair gels, hairsprays, shine sprays, volumizing moussee, the list could go on and on and on. We have all of these products because they are of course packaged in these bright and shiny containers promising hair miracles. A lot of times those fabulous hair miracles never happened so they get stuffed in a drawer or a cabinet somewhere because we think that the next time we pull them out it will magically do what it states it can do.

I recently tried the Ilumination Shine Mist by Cureology and I love this stuff! I have never been much into shine sprays because I found many times they left my thick, dark hair looking rather greasy but not this one. I think my husband likes it even better than I do! That isn't really saying much though. :) He is quite the pretty boy so his hair process in the morning has always been longer than mine.

The mist has color and UV protection, is alcohol free and is vegan! Is that why it is so awesome? Well I don't know but I have to admit I am totally loving that it is 100% natural. They also are a sponsor of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, INC and I'm totally loving that too. So just way to go Cureology all the way around. Now I have to go and buy some of their shampoo...

Oh the joys of travel during pregnancy

A recent trip to Orlando, Florida had me and my husband reminiscing about other road trips we have taken during our marriage. One in particular absolutely cracks us up now but was not too funny to me as it was happening. The night I found out I was pregnant with our little man Collin was the night we were packing all of our belongings to move 8 hours away. Eight hours away from the only place I had known as home for my husband to take a consulting job with an insurance company in West Palm Beach, Florida.

A girlfriend of mine was over at our house helping us pack and complaining of her “unwelcome friend” and I got to thinking well you know when exactly was the last time my “unwelcome friend” paid me a visit. Then I got to thinking… oh dear God… I don’t remember. I immediately stopped what I was doing and headed to Walgreens down the street. Got a test and what do ya know? Pregnant!

Our life was crazy! We moved to South Florida, he started working crazy hours for an insurance company recruiting and training their sales force and I began working on a pageant program I had started in Alabama that we had decided to turn into a National Pageant Program. Time went by very quickly and before I knew it, it was November and I was 7 months pregnant. By this time, it was time for us to travel back to Alabama for our Alabama State Pageant. I kept telling my husband that we needed to leave a couple of days early because I really needed to split the trip into two days only doing four hours one day and four hours the second day leaving that night for me to recuperate before the pageant.

Well, as men do… he didn’t listen. Here we are driving eight hours to Alabama for a pageant that is going to be happening the next day. We get started on the trip and I immediately get car sick. Every few miles we are pulled over at a gas station, a rest stop or on the side of the busy interstate while my 7 months pregnant self is vomiting on the side of the road.

At the time, we drove a Cadillac Escalade and you know they are fairly big. Well I was on the passenger side of course so I wasn’t worried about anyone seeing me. That was also at the still fairly newlywed stage of my marriage where I didn’t want Nick to see me throwing up. You know when I man sees you give birth it just changes a woman… but that is a story for another day. Ha!

So we are pulled over on the side of the road and I am yacking everywhere. I would walk a bit down the side of the truck and yack. Stand a minute, yack some more. Catch my breath, yack some more. You know the drill. Well about 5 minutes into my yacking adventure I notice a car pulling up behind us. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am so embarrassed. At this point I want to just die. It is a State Trooper just checking to see if we are ok.

Well no, WE are not ok. When you leave I am thinking I might pull my husband out of this vehicle and kill him myself because I told him I needed to split the drive. I told him I couldn’t take the full 8 hours. But did he listen to me? Oh no! He didn’t listen to me so now I am on the side of the road yacking while a State Trooper is asking me if I’m ok.

Well in between pukes I am trying to explain to this lovely man that I am pregnant and dealing with some car sickness/morning sickness/all freaking damn day sickness… whatever you want to call it and does he leave? No. He doesn’t! He proceeds to tell me congratulations! He proceeds to tell me how excited I must be! Oh yes, I am so flipping excited I can’t keep anything down! My stomach is just full of fluttering little butterflies. I can barely contain all of my excitement which is exactly why whenever I even think about drinking something, I puke. He proceeds to drive up beside our car where I am in between the Escalade and the State Troopers car with my back turned just yacking away while he talks to my husband and tells him congratulations. As he is telling him how I may be sick now but in the end I will see how “worth it” it was. He finally drives off and what is my husband doing? Laughing! He is laughing hysterically and proceeds to laugh for what seemed like 50 miles down the road. He could not stop laughing.

Well we now have the most handsome two year old little boy and yes it was totally worth it but I think I am scheduling my husband an appointment to get snipped. Who is laughing now? ;)

Potty Cover a must have for all parents

I do not know how I have three children and am just now hearing about Potty Cover is a must have for parents of young children. Ok picture this, you are traveling this summer visiting one public restroom after another for potty breaks on the interstate. You absolutely cringe each time you go into a stall and watch as your little one props himself/herself up on that public potty using their little hands. Maybe you are holding your child over the potty to he/she doesn't touch the seat. How is that working out for you? Not that great huh? What if you had a product that provides a waterproof barrier between the toilet and your child? Something that stays on the toilet without any adhesive strips and even works well with porta potties! Well you do and its called Potty Cover. Potty Cover has a oversized design that provides maximum coverage by covering the sides and the front of the toilet. It is double layered with soft non-woven fabric on the top and coated with a layer of plastic on the bottom to keep germs and wetness away!  They come 6 to a pack and each pack is individually wrapped in a small easy to carry bag! Awesome huh?

Our Dog Was Hit By A Car

Want to know what the worst day ever is like? It started when I got up at 7am to get ready for work and immediately felt ill. Within a few minutes I was in the shower and then out vomiting. Yes, vomiting! What I thought was the second stomach virus I have had in three weeks (which turned out to be the flu). I decide I just can not make it in to work so I call in sick.

My sweet husband takes the kids to vacation bible school and the little man to daycare and I head back to bed. I wake back up around 11am feeling worse than I did when I first woke up. Back to the bathroom throwing up again. Too much information... yes I know. It went from nice and sunny outside to absolutely flooding in a matter of minutes. Our Rottweiler Harley is outside underneath our carport on his chain. All of a sudden I hear a loud BANG and a horrible YELP from Harley and the lights in my house flicker. The first thing I thought was OMG, Harley has been struck by lightning.

I rush outside to find my huge dog walking back and forth, in the rain acting completely disoriented. He had completely left from underneath the carport. So I unhook him, bring him inside and dry him off with a towel. He then proceeds to jump into my bed (still rather wet but I didn't have the heart to tell him to get off) and cuddles with me for most of the afternoon.

I decide that since I feel like absolute death I will soak in the bath. I turn on the water, get in the tub and within about 5 minutes the water just stops, completely stops. WTH? So I call my husband and he comes home to attempt to fix it before its dark outside. We are not connected to city water, we have a well. The first thing we think is that it is probably the pump and that it was struck by lightening earlier when I heard the loud bang. After a few minutes we realize that it probably just tripped the breaker. We come inside to our breaker box and could not find the breaker for the pump. UGH!

We go outside, circle the house a bit and finally realize it is connected to a breaker box outside. Sure enough, the breaker was tripped. My husband flips it back over and the water is working again! Thank God!   We live out in what I would call "semi-country". The old house beside us is empty and the land across from us is full of cows but I am like 5 minutes away from a Wal-Mart and 15 minutes away from a decent sized mall. Anyway... the point I am trying to get at is we don't have a fenced in yard. So, we don't let Harley roam around outside unless we are out there with him.

Well, I guess we both were caught up with trying to fix the water we did not realize he had run up the road a ways until we heard a THUD and a horrible YELP! I looked at my husband and said "Oh my God I think Harley has just been hit by a car!" We jump in the car and speed up the road and sure enough there is our beautiful mischievous dog laying on the side of the road. He could not walk but he just picked up his head and gave us this look like "You came for me!". It was so incredibly heartbreaking.

An older man in a pick up truck stopped to help by husband get Harley on a blanket and in the back of my car. I knew it was bad instantly. He was clearly hurt but he didn't even nip at my husband or the older man when they were trying to pick him up. I kept thinking it was because he was in shock and couldn't feel anything because if he could feel something, it would be pain and when they moved his legs and everything he would have nipped.

When Nick gets in the car he tells me Harley is bleeding from his bottom. I rush to the vet and as they are taking Harley inside my two year old starts crying saying "Harley!". I explain to him that Harley had a boo boo and we were just taking him to the doctor so they could doctor his boo boo. I pull the car out from in front of the entrance while my husband is inside and of course start throwing up in the parking lot of the vet clinic because I had been sick all day! It was so incredibly embarrassing! Especially when the nurse comes out to tell me she hopes I get to feeling better!

Within a few minutes my husband walks out holding Harley's collar. You would think that it would have registered for me at that moment but it didn't. I remember my husband looking at me saying, they said it will be an extra fee if we want them to cremate him. I remember thinking "Why are we talking about this? They are working on him right now? Why are we talking about cremating him? We don't know what is going to happen?" That I guess is when it hit me. Nick came out holding his collar. He didn't make it.

I immediately started crying. I seriously cried like I had lost a family member. I guess he was a family member to me. This dog has absolutely tortured me for the last year. He has eaten my shoes, pulled dresses down from my closet, beheaded stuffed animals... the list really goes on and on. I actually wrote a blog post not too long ago on my personal blog (Confessions of a Busy Mom) joking about giving him away. But it was just that, a joke. The truth is, as mischievous as he was... he was our dog. He was Collin's first dog and Collin absolutely loved him. I bet you Collin has asked me about Harley's boo boo two dozen times since last night. He keeps grabbing my hand to go outside because in his little mind he thinks that it is time to let Harley back in. I don't even know how to begin to explain to him that Harley is never coming back in.

Father's Day Gifts from Easy Canvas Prints

My daughter Madison was in her first "big girl" pageant a few months ago. We did a pageant several years ago when she was a baby but this was her first one where she had to walk onstage by herself. It was such a special event and my husband was so helpful during the entire process and was really her biggest fan. So since Father's Day was coming up I wanted to order him a canvas print of the photo we took at the pageant.

I ordered the print from EasyCanvasPrints.com and it turned out so good! Even better than I expected! So I don't know what you swanky moms have planned to order your husband for Father's Day but why not check out EasyCanvasPrints.com

Their prices are great and the quality is amazing!

TheraNeem Nail & Cuticle Oil Pen Giveaway!

I recently had the opportunity to review the TheraNeem Nail & Cuticle Oil Pen. Let me just say, I LOVED IT! Even my husband loved it! The product is manufactured by a company called Organix-South. Organix-South is America's foremost manufacturer of organic Neem-based products.

The Neem tree is one of the oldest document medicinal herbs on the planet. Native to India and Southeast Asia, the Neem tree is commonly referred to as the "Village Pharmacy". Neem is very well know for its ability to safely treat a variety of conditions ranging from a natural pesticide to a dietary supplement.

TheraNeem® Nail & Cuticle Oil from Organix-South is a solution for supporting healthy, strong nails while soothing and softening cuticles. I had the pleasure of trying the handy .17fl. oz. nail applicator pen with a brush. I absolutely loved the convenience of the way it is packaged. It is something you can throw in your purse or diaper bag and carry around with you.

It smells great and leaves your nails and cuticles not only feeling SOFT but CLEAN! So many products now a days leave a greasy residue afterwards but all you are left with after using this product is great smelling, soft, clean feeling nails and cuticles.

The antioxidant-rich formula is “super charged” to do the job because of key ingredients such as supercriticalextracts of organic Neem Leaf and Sea Buckthorn along with organic Neem Seed oil, organic Cocoa Seed butter, organic Sesame oil, organic Castor Seed oil and essential oils of Lemon, Lavender and Rose Geranium.

Do you want to try one? Well lucky for you, we are giving one away! Just enter below!

Happy Meal Toys Are Not Invented by Moms

So I have had a terrible virus for days. At first I thought I may have given myself food poisoning with my own cooking and although that would have been pretty embarrassing, had it been true I probably wouldn’t have shared it with you. But now I have just come to the realization that I have some type of terrible virus or the person who cooked my food when I ate out twice in one day didn’t wash their hands. That totally freaks me out but I guess it doesn’t really matter how I got sick because it just has to run its course.

It couldn’t have come at a worse time though. This weekend is a crazy weekend for me. We are heading to Orlando for my step sons graduation. Am I old enough to have a step son graduating? No I am not. Not at all but when I married the second time I decided to go for brains and maturity so my husband is a little bit older. Oh and he is pretty darn cute too. Love you honey!

Anyway… No, I am not old enough to have a step son graduating from high school. Nor am I old enough to have a step son graduating from college but I have one of those two. Eeeekk. The one graduating from high school actually gets a real big kick out of going shopping with me and then screaming out in a crowded isle “Hey Mom! Can I have this?” while everyone looks at me like DAMN! I want to know what new super fruit juice she’s drinking.

Anyway… we are going to Orlando then will be heading to West Palm Beach for a pageant that I am directing then will turn right back around and drive 8 hours back to Alabama so I can be at work on Monday morning. YAY ME! Aren’t you jealous? No really, I can’t really complain because I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and can’t wait to see all of the beautiful contestants at the pageant because we have so many people coming back from last year and that just really makes me smile.

So we start the 6 hour trip to Orlando in the middle of my nasty yucky virus and a little over half way in we stop at a McDonalds to eat. Well, the little man who has been sitting in the back seat passed out in his car seat starts screaming bloody murder as we pull in. Nick gets him out of his car seat and he is soaking wet. As soon as I realize what brand pull ups we had him in I will be very sure to give them a you suck shout out but in the meantime…. I just changed him in the middle of the parking lot.

We get inside and both girls are “too tired to eat”. Oh yeah I know sitting in the back seat of the car sleeping is just so freaking exhausting. How ever do you do it? So Collin runs into McDonalds and immediately starts screaming “I like to move it move it! I like to move it move it!” Then I realize that the Happy Meal theme is Madagascar. We actually happen to love Madagascar at my house. I can literally quote the entire movie because the 2 year old has watched it over and over and over again.

So he is over at the little display that McDonalds puts up to show exactly how many different toys there are in the collection so they can brainwash your kids into needing to come back each week to complete their own little collection. He is bouncing up and down saying “I like to move it move it! I like to move it move it!” and everyone is getting a real kick out of it. We get the Happy Meal/Kids Meal… whatever they are calling it now a days and we eat. I get out the little toy and it is Gloria (from Madagascar of course) and it is in two pieces. Apparently you are supposed to snap Gloria onto this little piece and then push it across the table and the little roller underneath causes her to spin. YAY! Fun! Right?

Um… hell no. What were these people thinking? Who invents this stuff? Do they not know that the kid is going to be happy with just Gloria. Just GLORIA and damn it, if she HAS to move then make sure the freaking piece is attached to her PERMANENTLY so when we get back into the car to keep on trekking along on our 6 hour trip I’m not hearing from the back seat “Mommy it brokeded! It brokeded Mommy! Mommy fix it! Fix it again Mommy! Mommy it brokeded again!”

Why does this happen? Because she had to spin the first time!
